Excessive uncertainty

The main theme of the project is the excess of uncertainty — a certain state in which nothing can be done about uncertainty itself, since it has no characteristics other than a sense of constant elusiveness and the disappearance of something that might have brought clarity. Uncertainty is always excessive; it is precisely its peculiar status of non-manifestation that allows imaginary constructions striving to grasp something concrete to unfold. Therefore, the images in the works are not read as belonging to the world of objects; they carry only hints and allusions to something resembling a human body, but transformed, reassembled as if by chance. The indeterminate figures are also a metaphor for the point of contact between the subject and the Other in psychoanalytic theory. The unfathomability of the Other is the site of uncertainty, that which sets in motion the imaginary dimension and the formation of fantasy. Even when one brings one's own judgments and interpretations to bear on the incomprehensible images, symbolizing what is seen, a remainder always persists — one that is itself part of the excess of uncertainty.

Here, the aesthetic perception of reality and of abstract concepts is embodied as form, whose boundaries are set by ornamental pattern or color, meant to grasp the unknown and, along this path, to demonstrate to the viewer visual paradoxes, compromises, and entanglements in the form of figurative abstraction, with a decorative treatment of the elements of the visual series.
